It's been a slow news week. Here's a sampling of NW Arkansas grammar for your entertainment --
Sign welcoming patrons into Tony C's (formerly Fuzzy's) on Garland in Fayetteville.
This one is perhaps the saddest. This was hanging in the window of the hair salon at the front of the Pleasant Grove Wal-Mart in Rogers.
SO close! This greeted us at a gas pump at Harp's on Wedington in Fayetteville.
And just for fun... this goose tried to attack me in the P&G parking lot this week. To be fair, he was minding his own business and only got angry when I got close and took his picture.

So my friend Ross was in town this week, and she and I went to dinner last night. After dinner we both ran by Wal-Mart on the way home only to discover that Wal-Mart has (once again) been taken over by ugly and useless Valentine's Day paraphernalia. On our way to the shampoo/hairspray aisle we were distracted by a (HUGE) bin of stuffed animals in various shades of red/pink/etc -- gems like a tiny gorilla with "Don't Monkey with my Heart" stitched across his chest and floppy-eared dogs reading "Puppy Love". Clever.
One particular piece that caught my eye is below:
We stood for several minutes debating whether or not this should probably read "I love you this much!" We had a good laugh and decided that the people in China that make such ridiculous knick-knacks are obviously not big on grammar and "it's the thought that counts" anyway, right?
So we keep shopping - looking for the office supply department (which is now in the back corner of the store, since the redesign) - and we pass yet another shelf of Vday crap. This time, however, we are greeted by this:
Same dog, but bigger (longer?).
Ok. A couple things. Clearly the same company produced these two dogs. Did they really create two different templates for embroidering these stupid things? Was it a space issue? The longer dog has enough space for a complete sentence? Sigh.

I promised to regale you with tales of my weekend in Dallas for Devon's birthday - and I shall not disappoint. I drove to Little Rock to meet up with Devon and Niki and continued on to Dallas to stay with Andrew. Andrew lives in the cutest little apartment near downtown - and we all piled in with he and his dog Toby for a few days.
We got to Dallas around lunch time on Saturday and headed to the aquarium/zoo/terrarium. It brought back memories of our NWA adventures at the Gentry Safari.
One of our favorite moments was when we encountered this sloth.
Devon was trying her best to look "sloth-like" while posing with the sloth. Until the sloth's handler (nametag reading "Sloth Whisperer") came to rescue the sloth and take him away for a break... from being a sloth...
Andrew posing with the flamingos.
In the Shark Tunnel:
That night we met up with Devon's cousin and his wife at the Bavarian Grill - which I highly recommend to anyone traveling to/thru Dallas. I ate something called Rahm Schnitzel for dinner and we had a sampler of various "wursts". It was awesome.
There was a little man serenading us with an accordion.
And since it was Devon's birthday weekend - our waitress played "Happy Birthday" with different-toned bells. It was quite the experience.
The night of the Rahm Schnitzel, we went out to The Round Up for a drink and wouldn't you know it - I ran into someone I know from Fayetteville. Oddly enough, this was only the second time I'd been to The Round Up and BOTH times I've run into people I know... And even MORE ironic, is that the person I saw this weekend was WITH ME when I was last in Dallas at that bar. Weird...
On my way home - I managed to snap a photo of this sign on the side of the road just outside Conway.
Seriously.
In other news - today was my 2 year anniversary at Saatchi & Saatchi X. Yah!

So I took this picture a week or so ago - and planned on making fun of it here. Something about inviting you to meet me at the bakery/BBQ on Main Street in Johnson at the strike of goo...
But I got distracted and that nugget never made it to the blog before now. But yesterday, I was driving home and noticed that they fixed it! Someone (not me!) probably asked what the hell GOO is - and they got some white frosting and fixed the 6.
Also of note. I'm pretty sure that the crazy tire people at Sam's fixed my tire and didn't tell me -- it's been as inflated as it's ever been since that infamous day.
Happy Friday.
