The Weather Channel is calling it Winter Storm Cleon, Southerners used it as the latest excuse to panic, and Walmarts everywhere called it payday. And if the persimmons are to be believed, this is only the beginning.

As for the Hoods, we ducked into the grocery store for a few necessities (eggs, milk, Cool Ranch Doritos) and settled in for a few days of downtime. And while my Facebook News Feed reflected dozens of people getting antsy with the weather, I honestly don’t think any of the homebodies in this household minded it. We walked in the snow, we played in the snow, we took our Annual Family Photo in the Snow. I cooked 2-3 meals a day — for FOUR DAYS (and counting… we’re home again today, too!) so my kitchen utensils and cookware are utterly confused and exhausted, but we’re all safe and warm — and grateful we have a place to be safe and warm.

  1. Love the ninja turtle ornaments!

  2. Thanks! That is high praise coming from you, lady! Unfortunately, I am fully aware of how easy they were to make… :) So I can’t take too much credit for any craftiness.
