I know you find this hard to believe, but I have been a bit of a slacker on the photos the last few weeks. Colt had a visit from a few members of the Atlanta chapter of his Fan Club two weekends ago – Uncle Paige and Aunt Lynn were accompanying Eric on his Spring Break College Tour and Fayetteville was on the itinerary. Colt took us all to Doe's on Dickson Street where he flirted with all the waitresses and showed his cousin Eric how to eat steak. And not. One. Photo.
Then we went to visit Granny and Pop last weekend. We went to Smackover and to the horse track in Hot Springs (where I bet good money on a horse named Himynameissarah – and she totally dropped the ball and made me lose two dollars!) and Colt stayed with Granny and Pop Friday and Saturday and ran them absolutely ragged. And!, after I assured everyone he was much too little for a push/pull walker toy, Colt pulled right up to one of the toys Aunt Sarah brought over for him and ran behind it clear across the room - grinning from ear to ear! And? NO PICTURES PEOPLE! What kind of mother am I?
Honestly, we have had such a fun couple of weeks. I use to joke about Colt "recovering" from his visits with family — getting back to his sleeping and eating routines, etc. But I'm beginning to think the tide is turning. Family members are now the ones having to recover after a Colt visit! Granny, we'll try to give you a few weeks to rest before we come back!
We took Colt for his 9 month check-up this morning and received rave reviews. Was there any doubt? Vitals: 20 lbs 2 oz, soooo close to 28 inches tall, 17 and 3/4 inches head circumference. He's crawling, pulling up and cruising and has started to feed himself a lot more — tonight he had cut green beans, sliced carrots and vegetable crackers for dinner. He still doesn't care for fruit or anything sweet. Six teeth and expecting more any day — drooling and chewing on everything in sight! Sleeping really well – in bed by 8pm and gets up for his morning bottle at 5:30am. Happy and healthy!
So I've uploaded a shameless number of new pictures to the "Colt – 6 to 12 Months" album over there on the right. I hadn't updated the album in an inexcusably long time. Apologies. I should also try to throw some new ones up on Facebook. That may or may not happen tonight.
And a picture of baby feet. Because they're my favorite and I haven't posted any in awhile.
The countdown to June 18, 2009 has begun.
