i am planning on going to SA the week of the 13th 17th somethingorother. it's a sunday to tuesday. YAH! new house! finally done! (keep your fingers crossed)
i am tired today because i couldn't sleep last night so i decided to read and ended up reading 20 chapters of a book my mom sent me. it is set in italy and it's wonderful. i would put it on my "now reading" marquee but i cannot for the life of me remember the name of it right this second.

i am some kinda whiney and fussy today. it's cold, i'm tired, my tummy hurts, i have nothing interesting to report... it's hard to compete with laura's spurs-novel-turned-xanga-entry.
my birthday was sunday. it was nice. the night before, my mom called a little after midnight and it was great to talk to her. i ended up getting to talk to everyone in my family. we went to see Ace and ended up going with keith and don and cindy to the Rib Crib in rogers, and to the movie "Waiting"-- which I highly recommend, especially if you have ever worked in a restaurant-- it was hysterically funny.
i'm feeling blah today. forgive the boring entry-- i just didn't want to get yelled at by my sister because i haven't updated in a while.

I am conducting a survey.
Question 1: Please rate, on a scale of 1-10, how well you would say that you know me. (1 being the equivalent of a complete stranger, 10 being my identical evil twin).
Question 2: Please rate, on a scale of 1-10, my level of cleanliness/organization/behavior as observed/perceived by you. (1 being Becky-Martin-level-messiness, 10 being "As Good As It Gets").
Thank you.
**side note** I HATE HATE HATE the new take 2 video commercials with the tool from the furniture commercials.

I would like to extend my apologies to all (well, both...) of you that read this blog. I've been a xanga-slacker lately. It's not you, it's me. I've been very busy. I worked all weekend and had very little time for anything but sleep. I did hear/see this song on CMT recently and it's been stuck in my head the last few days. It's one of those that makes me smile and tear up at the same time, and miss my mom.
"Somebody's Hero" -- Jamie O'Neal
She's never pulled anyone from a burning building
She's never rocked Central Park to a half a million fans, screaming out her name
She's never hit a shot to win the game
She's never left her footprints on the moon
She's never made a solo hot air balloon ride, around the world,
No, she's just your everyday average girl (but)
She's somebody's hero
A hero to her baby with a skinned up knee
A little kiss is all she needs
The keeper of the cheerios
The voice that brings Snow White to life
Bedtime stories every night
And that smile lets her know
She's somebody's hero
She didn't get a check every week like a nine-to fiver
But she's been a waiter, and a cook and a taxi driver
For twenty years, there at home, until the day her girl was grown
Giving all her love to her was her life's ambition
But now her baby's movin' on, and she'll soon be missin' her
But not today, those are tears of joy runnin' down her face
She's somebody's hero
A hero to her daughter in her wedding dress
She gave her wings to leave the nest
It hurts to let her baby go down the aisle she walks right by
Looks back into her mother's eyes
And that smile lets her know
She's somebody's hero
Thirty years have flown right past
Her daughters' starin' at all the photographs
Of her mother, and she wishes she could be like that
Oh, but she already is
She's somebody's hero
A hero to her mother in a rockin' chair
She runs a brush through her silver hair
The envy of the nursing home
She drops by every afternoon
Feeds her mama with a spoon
And that smile lets her know
Her mother's smile lets her know
She's somebody's hero
In other news, the job search may have taken an interesting turn, but I don't want to jinx it, so details later.

Does everybody know what day it is? Waffle Fry Thursday!! I had a unique experience with chic-fil-A today. If you have been following the unofficial Chic-Fil-A Waffle Fry Chronicles you know that I loyally wait on waffle fries every thursday and that they don't start making them until they completely run-out of them in the bin-- a line of 15ish people forms, people are grumbling, the fries are frying.... it's a ridiculous process. Today! The rack of waffle fries was bursting at the seams with fries-- which I have never seen before! Full rack of fries...... and NO CHICKEN! A line of at least 15 people formed waiting on chicken! The NAME of the place is F-ing CHIC-fil-A! Does BURGER king run out of BURGERS!? at 12:30 on a weekday!?! NO! So I get my waffle fries and wait 4 minutes for a chicken sandwich-- my waffle fries were cold.... i was displeased, to say the least. <sigh> I never really have a 100% hassle-free experience with fast-food.

i'm fairly certain it's tuesday, though tuesday always seems like monday to me. the game was fun this weekend. mostly it was fun to not have to work on a saturday.
sunday was fairly uneventful at work, until my grouchy, moody boss decided to liven things up in the kitchen by blaring "Fiddler on the Roof" and dancing around with a coffee filter on his head like a hat. (sigh)
job search on.
the link below is for any of you out there in cyberspace thinking of throwing caution to the wind and picking a random country/continent to live with absolutely no rational reason. just in case that applies to anyone.

my week-long xanga hiatus is over. it has been a busy week! i trained in the bar this week, and i am IN LOVE with being a bartender at Outback. it's kinda the best of both worlds. it's the better hours that I already prefer in Outback as opposed to Cool Water, AND i now get to deal more closely with "bar people" which i definitely prefer to waiting on people with their messy, loud kids. i've managed to find something that combines what i miss about CW and what i like most about OB. :) p.s. i also make more money.
i can't believe it's october 7th. how did i miss the whole first week of october?! wednesday was keith's birthday-- we went to powerhouse and willy Ds, though no normal amount of "birthday embarassment" works on that man. he loves the attention. and i'm not sure the pianists at the piano bar knew what they were getting into when they started in on him. :)
school is still going strong. looking for a job-- which is making me anxious. i'll be done with school in 2 months. it's starting to sink in. i got bonus points for one of my classes yesterday for sitting in on a speaker from Wal-Mart. it was jenni! funny how things happen, huh?
it's 12:34, i got up 30 minutes ago to take my vitamins and what not, and now i think it's time for a nap. this is the first morning i've even remotely slept in, all week, i'm milking it for all it's worth. my tummy is rumbling though, which may be enough for me to venture out for food.
