This week I have been very disappointed with the service industry in general.  For example, Sunday night I spent 5 hours in the emergency room at Washington Regional Medical Center.  "Emergency" is really an inappropriate term for that place. I really didn't see anyone who looked like they were reacting to an emergency.  This wasn't the biggest disappointment, however...

So, after spending the night in the ER, I went to the pharmacy Monday morning to get the prescriptions filled.  I have only used the drive-thru pharmacy at Wal-Mart one other time and it was to pick-up a prescription. Now I needed to drop one off.  I pull up to one of two windows at the drive-thru pharmacy to ask if I can drop-off a prescription there or do I need to go inside? There are 2 buttons above the screen, "Call" and "Send".  I push the "Call" button.  This grouchy old lady comes over the speaker and says "I'll be with you in just a minute!". So I wait.  A couple of minutes go by and a truck pulls up in the lane next to me.  I watch him. He pushes the "Call" button, the lady comes over the speaker and says hello, sends him the little canister, he sends it back and drives away. I am STILL waiting for this stupid lady to acknowledge me. So I push the "Call" button a second time.  Clearly this was a mistake.  The crazy bitch comes back over the speaker and says, "I TOLD you, I'll be with you in just a minute!". I didn't know what to do. I needed that medicine or I would have driven away. So I wait some more.  A minute later, a different lady with a very pleasant voice asks what I need, I send her the prescriptions and I'm done.  It was so painless.  What in the world was that first lady's problem!? Not only was she unnecessarily rude to me, but she waited on someone else ahead of me! And it's not like I can just decide to leave, she knows that she has something I NEED! bleh.

Becky was thinking about moving in with me for awhile, but now it looks like that's not going to happen.  that's ok.  I get to see everyone in 2 weeks from today! I'm getting very anxious about that.  That and the fact that I may have waited too long to get Les Mis tickets! I'm going to call in a minute.

Yeah, unless you've got a gaping head wound that's gushing all over the admitting clerk, the emergency room is not a quick moving place. It's best to bring a book and a pillow. I can't wait to see you!WP is going to be awesome!
