So you remember the story about the weird couple who forced their nipple-rings upon me? They came back to Cool Water last night! I didn't wait on them, thank goodness. They waved and said hi to me though-- i'm beginning to think the nipple-ring incident may have been part of some sick bet. hmm.
Seems last night was the night for all the wierdos to come out-- very few regulars were at the bar. This older man who comes in from time to time, named Charlie, was in last night. Interesting story about him... last October he came in with some friends, had a Diet Coke and left me his phone number on a $100 bill. The next night, he came back and gave me another $100 tip-- he said it was because he heard my birthday was the week before... turns out, his name is Charlie Cate-- he was the manager of the second Wal-Mart store ever opened. He was telling me stories about Sam Walton, I looked him up in Sam's book and he's in there a lot. So, bottom line, this guy is original Wal-Mart money and he is a multi-millionaire. You'd never know it, though.
Dave made my favorite Broccoli Cheese soup in the whole world yesterday. I've been begging him for weeks to make it. It is heavenly.
First Bike Nite tonite!
I swear, I think Monster, Wetfeet, Careerbuilder, and all the other job search engines would be obsolete if people only realized that the way to get a job is to wait tables or bartend. Whether it be at a Country Club or a nice bar like Cool Water-- it's the way to do it. I promise.

Clearly my pretentious sarcasm doesn't translate into Xanga-speak. I will not be posting anymore google-settled issues.

I read this on Tom's site and laughed at the honesty. Thought I'd share.

So, it's been a long weekend but I haven't updated as the computer was somewhat otherwise monopolized. <warning! that was passive aggressive.>
Friday night I worked billiards by myself, which is no small feat on a Friday night-- on top of the fact that I couldn't talk. It was a pretty long night. However, I was waiting on this table of 12ish people and some new people showed up and joined them right before last call. One of them looked really familiar and I'm sure I was staring. Then, this guy I KNEW I knew walked up. It's official-- Cabot people are everywhere. Andy Schaefer and Eric Whitmire were in Cool Water Friday night. No one has called me "Tom Martin's little sister" since Nathan McCarroll was here for New Years' Eve. They didn't realize we're not a college-bar that stays open till all hours so I finally got them to leave around 1am (we close at midnight on weekends). And there should totally be a rule about asking out your friends' little sisters. Creepy.
Since I was literally squeaking by the end of Friday night, I told Kelly I would not be coming in Saturday night. Saturday we took the dog to the park. Well, first we had to get him a new collar since Callie destroyed his. We went to Lake Fayetteville and Ace got right in the water. Discovered he's not very good on the leash, he got tangled up every 3 minutes or so-- but he's cute-- he can get away with that sort of thing. We went up to the University to walk around where in a matter of minutes Ace met two new friends-- a pit bull and the fattest, slowest, saddest Basset Hound I have ever seen. Ace wasn't all about the Peace Fountain, but he got in anyway. We took Ace back to Keith's house as Keith and Don were calling us--
We met Keith and Don and Calvin and Melanie at La Huerta. Jeff and I decided this was perhaps the most diverse group of couples you could ask for-- Keith and Don, Calvin (who's black) and Melanie (who's white, blonde and blue-eyed) and their baby CJ, and Jeff and I. Went to On the Rocks, Jose's-- and ended up, of course, at 716.
Sunday we went to lunch with Keith and Don and crew to the Monte Ne Chicken Inn-- which I recommend. Between the 10 of us, I think we ate 12 chickens. I was so bored to tears Sunday afternoon that I broke down and bought a DVD player. I also bought Finding Neverland, which I watched almost twice yesterday. I love Finding Neverland.
I was told for the umpteenth time Friday night that I look like Elisabeth Shue. I would like some feedback on this. I don't see it.

So I have mysteriously lost my voice over the past two days. I woke up yesterday and it was sounding kinda wierd, and after trying to talk all during work and whatnot yesterday, it is SO gone. Work tonight should be interesting.
Last night was pure craziness. The Omegas had a party at Cool Water and expected around 200 people. I'm not very good at estimating that kind of thing but it looked more like 6000. They had pre-paid for $500 worth of Long Island Iced Teas. FYI- that's a LOT of LITs. They were gone in record time however, taking into account that there were 6000 people there. So we made another batch of LITs, which really consisted of kelly, blake and I pouring unspecified amounts of clear liquor into a big bucket and adding LOTS of lemonade, sprite, coke, and sweet and sour. It was like a big vat of really bad frat party "punch". I was mixing it with an empty vodka bottle. So we gave them another batch of LITs which were also gone in record time. It was absolute craziness. No pictures, sadly. No time to take any. Maybe next time.
Laura's birthday is soon.
George Costanza: The sea was angry that day, my friends. Like an old man trying to send back soup in a deli.

So I had to break down and get premium so I could post my pictures like I wanted to. There's probably an easier way, and if you know what it is, please keep that information to yourself as I am perfectly happy in my xanga ignorance and have already paid my $4 for this month.
Haven't posted in a while, and not from lack of something interesting to share. Sunday night we went to Dave's Pizza and Subs pre-grand opening shindig. For those of you in Northwest Arkansas, I HIGHLY recommend it. Dave and Kim make a mean pizza.
After Dave's, we went to a drag show/beauty pageant at 716 which was totally lame.
This week has been pretty uneventful. Nothing too exciting at work. Tonight there's a "House Party" that doesn't even start until 10:30 and goes till late, so I'm sure there'll be at least one tidbit in tomorrow's post about that.
Any suggestions of productive ways I can spend my summer?

I've dealt with my ghosts and I've faced all my demons
Finally content with a past I regret
I've found you find strength in your moments of weakness
For once I'm at peace with myself
I've been burdened with blame, trapped in the past for too long
I'm movin' on
I've lived in this place and I know all the faces
Each one is different but they're always the same
They mean me no harm but it's time that I face it
They'll never allow me to change
But I never dreamed home would end up where I don't belong
I'm movin' on
I'm movin' on
At last I can see, life has been patiently waiting for me
And I know there's no guarantees, but I'm not alone
There comes a time in everyone's life
When all you can see are the years passing by
And I have made up my mind that those days are gone
I sold what I could and packed what I couldn't
Stopped to fill up on my way out of town
I've loved like I should but lived like I shouldn't
I had to lose everything to find out
Maybe forgiveness will find me somewhere down this road
I'm movin' on

Evidently my "Xanga Premium Free Trial Period" has expired. What does that mean exactly?
